Number Zero

My very own blog. I always knew that people wanted to hear what I have to say, so now's your chance to come on board. I've had people comment on my wisdom, insight, and thoughtfulness throughout the years. I mean, who hasn't? I get likes on facebook from time to time, but fb has always been a non serious media outlet for me and now its covered with baby pictures and life stories. More power to ya, but I'm looking for something a little lighter and more playful. Enter the Dragon aka Don't Spill This On Yourself.

Once upon a time some co-workers suggested that I start a blog for movie reviews as they would always hear about my most recent viewings over our morning meetings. I have a unique taste for ridiculous over-the-top special effects, massive explosions, martial arts, action, comedy, indie, foreign, and the stray anime, rom-com, or documentary. I bring a life to reviews that some 'credible' critics may view as base, halfhearted, or just plain dumb.

So the 'New Yorker' says 'Olympus Has Fallen' is endless scenes of Banning walking down dark corridors and engaging in hand-to-hand combat, shot in the usual fragmented way that makes it impossible to see very much of anything. Um, its an action movie. I'm not looking for serious dialogue every time I walk into a theater. Sometimes I want a big dude with an assorted arsenal of weaponry kicking ass and taking names. Who says you can't break everyone's neck? Not me. Might as well shoot 'em in the head afterwards just to make sure. Sometimes gratuitous violence is exactly the answer.

So yeah, we're gonna have a bit of movie reviews in the blog. I'll keep this one abbreviated since it's not as fresh in my mind (although Netflix is tempting me to refresh it). I give 'Olympus Has Fallen' 5/7 Fox Tails for its non stop action, decently choreographed and unique fight scenes, and because Gerard Butler is a bad-ass. I don't know if you can use the F-word more times than in that movie. Jawesome.

We'll also have the regular stuff in this blog like cars, beer, house projects, and the occasional cat picture. I've found out that every successful Internet media site has to have cats in some form; I happen to have 2 at my disposal and therefore hundreds of pictures to choose from (from my lady of course).

EREBOS
This entry has trotted on a little longer than I plan for the future, but I wanted to give a final shout out to auggiejournal.blogspot known as 'The Automotive Way'. I discovered one of your posts the other month when searching for car pictures and stumbled upon a pic of one of my own babies. Erebos to be exact. A pristine 1999 Isuzu Vehicross. I was excited at first to see someone noticing my car (although its hard not to notice).

But I was a little soured when you used the term 'Brodozer' to describe it. Although never having heard this term before I conjured up images of a bulldozer plowing into a bunch of guys. They didn't seem pleased. Here's the quote: 'Like most "brodozers" here in the Midwest, this Isuzu probably never sees a speck of dirt.' Wow. Needless to say I was a bit upset. But rather than rant and rave on your site I deciding to take it upon myself to give my baby the attention and credit it deserves. And so this blog has been conceived. Thank you
